Casa Piedra is a detached architect-designed
house, built in the late 1960s and located high in the 'casco antiguo'.
Although there are houses all around, Casa Piedra is very private, set in its
own hillside garden with a large tear-drop shaped swimming pool, avocado and
palm trees, several terraces and abundant tropical shrubs and plants.
Views in all directions are spectacular. To
the north there are the high foothills of the Sierra Nevada with snow covered
peaks until the early summer. To the east there are views across the Guadalfeo river delta; to the south you can enjoy views of the
nearby Salobreña beach and Mediterranean Sea.
There are two entrances to the property: the
lower is the main one which leads up from the cul-de-sac roadway and our garage.
Once inside the grounds, there is an outside flight of some twenty five
steps leading up to the front door. The other entrance brings you from the
alleys of the old town, leading this time down another flight of steps to the
front terrace and door. Within a five minute walk of this upper level gate you
will reach Bar Pesetas, our most local bar and one of the nicest restaurants in Salobreña.
The house is about a twelve minute walk to
the beach although the return, coming back up the hill, takes slightly longer.
